According to the district, Will Ensley, a Shawnee Mission Northwest incoming senior, was killed in a nine-vehicle collision on Metcalf Avenue close to College Boulevard.
According to police, a truck struck the teenager’s automobile from behind, crushing it.
There were no other severe injuries in the collision, and it is unknown what caused the truck driver to rear-end the adolescent driver’s car. According to police, the collision is still being looked into.

The 17-year-old victim of a collision involving nine vehicles and a dump truck was named Thursday morning.
Principal Lisa Gruman informed the families of Shawnee Mission Northwest students that incoming senior Will Ensley had perished in the collision in an email.
“As you can imagine, this is devastating news for the family and all of us here at Northwest,” Gruman’s email stated.
Ensley was murdered early on Wednesday when a dump truck rammed into nine vehicles parked at a red signal on southbound Metcalf Avenue at 115th Street. Police say Ensley’s car was the first to be hit.

He was a dedicated resident of the area, giving his time to several important causes and consistently prepared to assist needy people.
As they recall his warm smile and lively manner, the community is in shock and grief over his demise.
