Sporting fans likely know who former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce, are. They are certainly not nobodies and Jason has 2 million followers on Instagram alone. However, his brother Travis Kelce is known by a much wider audience, in part because of his relationship with superstar Taylor Swift.
RelatedTravis may have been getting payback for the hint Jason seemingly shared about his brother's plans to marry Taylor Swift.
Their relationship is one of the hottest couplings in showbiz right now, and all eyes are on Swift and Kelce. Little they do goes unnoticed, and their romance has been plagued with rumors (both good and bad). With this in mind, it's not surprising that this level of fame would be challenging to navigate.
There are definite downsides to fame, including the pressure of maintaining a relationship where everyone is up in your business. However, Jason Kelce didn't realize just how challenging the level of fame his brother Travis Kelce is now experiencing could be. Travis and Taylor Swift have made multiple headlines since they started dating, something which Jason acknowledged in a new interview with Andrew Santino’s Whiskey Ginger podcast.
"It's been crazy [and] then Travis and Taylor have taken it to another level, and that's a whole other side of it," Jason said in the interview. "Like, Kylie and I think we have it bad, and then we go hang out with one of them for a second. This is a whole other situation here [and] I don't even know how to, like, you can't be a normal person at that point."
The fame that has come from Travis dating Swift has not just extended to him but also to his family, and Jason and Kylie have also earned the approval of Swifties. "She should be [more famous than me] no doubt," Jason said of his wife. "So, we did the [Kelce] documentary a few years ago and … I think she's a little bit uncomfortable with how much it's become and our family's out there, like, people know what our kids look like."
He continued, "We've tried to retract from that a little but, I think she enjoys the fact that she gets to go and do charitable outings [and] she gets to give back to the community [and] do clinics with little girls [for] field hockey and all these other things."
Jason and Travis Kelce have previously acknowledged how Taylor Swift's fans have helped them, and they gave a shoutout to them after winning an award earlier this year. The brothers took home the podcast of the year award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards for their podcast, New Heights, and they felt they owed Swifties their thanks.
RelatedEngagement speculation has been following the couple for months, but Jason seemed to hint Travis has already popped the question.
"Podcast of the year … it's big s***," Travis said in a video. "Listen, this is an incredible honor, especially for two jabronis like us," Jason added. "To receive an award like this is beyond humbling, and we would be remiss if we didn't immediately thank all of the 92%ers out there — aka Swifties — who voted for us to win this award." Travis added, "Thank you guys for everything. We truly do have the best fanbase in the entire world."
