He grew up in a dysfunctional home. His mother, Pearl Fernandez, didn’t want another kid and even abandoned him at the hospital, according to The Wrap.

Gabriel Fernandez Autopsy: Who Killed An Eight-Year-Old Boy?

Gabriel Fernandez, an eight-year-old kid from Palmdale, California, who had been beaten and tormented for months, was murdered on May 24, 2013, by Pearl Sinthia Fernandez, his mother, and Isauro Aguirre, her lover, whom he had been beaten by the previous two days.

Gabriel Fernandez was mercilessly tormented and tortured throughout his eight-month stay in the home of Pearl Fernandez and Isauro Aguirre.

Regular physical beatings resulted in broken bones; being forced to eat cat litter and feces, his vomit and foods that are rotten or expired; smoking being set afire; being shot many times with a BB pistol, including in the face and groin.

Being pepper-sprayed; forced to wear women’s clothing; forced to sleep bound and gagged in a small cupboard; and had his teeth knocked out with a bat.

According to Fernandez’s siblings, his mother and stepfather would laugh while mistreating him.

Prosecutors claim that Aguirre was driven to assault Fernandez because he thought she was gay.

The violence and torture extended to Fernandez’s siblings but were primarily aimed at Fernandez.

Pearl Fernandez called 9-1-1 on May 22, 2013, to report that her infant, Gabriel Fernandez, was not breathing. His mother and Aguirre fatally beat Fernandez for not cleaning up his toys.

When first responders came, they discovered him on the ground nude with many injuries. Aguirre informed them that Fernandez was “homosexual.”

He was transported to the hospital by paramedics, who ruled him brain dead. Two days later, on May 24, 2013, he died at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

He died at age eight, and the official autopsy determined that he died due to blunt force injuries, neglect, and starvation.

Where Are Gabriel Fernandez Parents Now? Family Explored

Gabriel Fernandez’s parents were imprisoned in 2017 for their devilish behavior. Pear and Issauro were found to have committed child abuse, torture, and murder.

Gabriel’s mother and stepfather were meant to be heard in the same court because they both committed the same crime under the same circumstances.

Nevertheless, a separate path was not conceivable because Pearl Fernandez and Isauro Aguirre were not legally married.

The issuer has been condemned to death by an American court of law, and he is presently awaiting his legal execution at the notorious San Quentin jail.

Mrs. Fernandez, Gabriel’s mother, is condemned to live in jail under the same jurisdiction.

According to the district criminal court’s final pronouncement in California, Pearl was sentenced to life while facing the death penalty.

The first explanation is that Pearl was a heroin addict at the time, and she had lost her brain, and the second reason is that her IQ level was pretty low.

Pearl is now breathing healthily and living as a prisoner in Chowchilla State Women’s Prison, California.

What Were Gabriel Fernandez Legal Proceedings? Arrest And Charges

Pearl Fernandez and Isauro Aguirre were arrested on May 23, 2013. Fernandez was charged with criminal child endangerment, while Aguirre was charged with attempted murder.

After Gabriel died, Fernandez and Aguirre were both charged with first-degree murder under torture, and prosecutors sought the death sentence.

Pearl Fernandez pled guilty to her charge on February 15, 2018, as part of a plea bargain to escape the death penalty and received a life sentence in jail without the possibility of release.

“I want to say I’m sorry for what occurred,” she said in court. I wish Gabriel were still alive.

Every day, I wish I had made other decisions. I apologize to my children and want them to know how much I love them.”
